Hong Kong Fundraising Campaign

The China AIDS Initiative is helping China reduce Mother-To-Child Transmission of HIV from 33% to <2% in regions stricken by the epidemic.

In Hong Kong, a group of kind and generous community and business leaders formed the Hong Kong Committee for China AIDS Initiative (CAI), with a view to helping the mainland accelerate its response to HIV and AIDS.

Since its establishment in 2004, the Hong Kong Committee for CAI has enlisted substantial support and allocated funding to a multitude of projects in the mainland, including: children orphaned by AIDS, prevention of mother to child transmission, implementation of AIDS education, improvement of medical care, vaccine development and provision of capacity building and technical support for AIDS healthcare professionals.

In the year 2010, the Hong Kong Committee for CAI will be holding a fundraising dinner in March and showing a TV programme in April, appealing to the community for further support of the AIDS cause and featuring the work done by the Committee and the difference made.
